Anti-tip Systems

Anti-tip systems 400 and 350 are designed to prevent more than one drawer of a dresser, clothing storage unit or lateral file system from being opened at a time, minimizing weight extending beyond the tipping point

long bank of filing cabinets in an office setting; these drawers have the anti-tip system installed, to ensure they do not fall over on top of the user

Helping protect what matters most

CompX Timberline manufactures two versions of anti-tip / interlock systems, which address tip over, stability and safety requirements within the residential and office furniture industries. In addition to being engineered to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards for strength and durability, anti-tip systems from CompX are easily installed and can accommodate ½”, ¾”, under mount and other types of drawer slides.

System 400

Using a “snapper” and drawer clips, System 400 mounts to one side of the casework. This system can work in furniture with two to five drawers. When either drawer is pulled open, the drawer clip on that drawer moves the snapper into a locked position, preventing any other drawers from being opened.

System 350

System 350 uses wedges, lockbar with an adjustable pin. When any drawer is pulled open, the wedges on that drawer move the lockbar into a locked position, preventing any other drawers from being opened. System 350 works in furniture with two to four drawers. It’s important to note that when using three or more drawers with System 350, wedges and lockbars must be installed on each side of the drawer.
